Let me tell you my story of working at home and caring for mom and how I can give you a little hope and all the other caregivers out there by sharing my experiences.

Can you believe we are at the end of 2011 already? Where did the year go? And where did our income go? Well, this year is quickly passing and with it a lot of our income has gone out the window too because of the bad economy. Let’s get ready to put 2011 in the past and start thinking how we can make 2012 a little brighter.

Over the next 5 years we had 2 more children and I was a stay at home mom. My husband was a car salesman and after several months of very sparse income, we really needed more money! We tried our hand at MLM so I would be able to work at home and be there for our three kids. Didn't work!

A few months later, my husband decided it was time to take our small family and move to Naples, Florida for a new start, where my life took a new direction. I took a job in a radio station and loved it.

But my kids suffered. Their mom was not home! My husband lost his job and life was going downhill fast.

Once again we decided it was time to take our small family lock, stock and barrel and move this time to Orlando… the land of Disney World. Life was exciting, NO MONEY, boy did we need more money, but we sure figured out how to have some fun.

After a few years of just living on fun and still no money, our marriage started falling apart. We divorced!

Becoming a single mom and living in Orlando, knowing very few people, was a long and stressful journey.

The only thing I could think of was that "I need more income, so I tried my hand at MLM again, not once but 3 times. I knew in my heart that working at home was the only way a single mom with no college education or no career experience was going to make it. YES, I failed again…. I told myself working at home just wasn't going to work for me and I was done with MLM this time.

I packed my things and moved back to Ohio along with my kids in tow and came back home to live with mom and dad until I could figure out what to do next.

No job, no money, no home…..I will have to say I was depressed.

Well, a long time friend who owned the local newspaper gave me a job in advertising sales. Oh, I was happy and I just knew I was in the right place this time.

It wasn't very long that we found out that my dad had colon and bone cancer. He lived about three months and the newspaper job was gone. They sold the company.

Nope…..didn’t work and I was even more depressed.

There came a little flicker of hope... One day my sister came to me with another MLM or NWM opportunity and here I go again. Just can’t seem to get enough, so I gave it a shot AGAIN.

Working at home was still a dream of mine.

This time I started making some progress, I thought.

Climbing up the ladder, boy did I ever feel successful and then

BOOM....

the rug was pulled right out from under my feet. Here we go again.

My sister became ill and passed away,

the mlm company went under and I was left with a BIG, BIG hole in my life.

Just before Carolyn passed away I took a job with a local family restaurant and made a pretty fair income for a single mom and I was happier than I had been in a long time.

So i had a good job and I was also working at home with a mlm company. I thought I had it made until I lost my sister to leukemia and it felt like my life had crashed into a brick wall.

I had such an empty feeling. I missed my dad and my sister.

As time went on, I started to heal a little and I started thinking about how I didn’t want a boss and punching that silly time clock was for the birds.

I didn’t like someone telling me how much I was worth either. I could only wait on so many tables in a day.

Do you get tired of the politics in the work place? Bosses don't seem to stand up for you anymore either.

Well, some time passed and after 7 years of working in the restaurant, my health took a tumble and the doctor said I had to give up waitressing, if I wanted to heal. NOW WHAT I said to myself.

I wanted so badly to find that perfect home business so I could be working at home but I was not one of the lucky ones.

By this time my kids were turning into young adults and starting to go off on their own….leaving ole mom by herself.

I decided I would go stay with my mother, who was grieving over losing my precious dad and my older sister. I just thought I would kill two birds with one stone….temporary situation you know…..help mom - help myself, yea right. Temporary?

Well, 6 years later here I am.... working at home with comfort and still at the homeplace and I am now able to keep mom right here at home where she wants to be at 93 and the rest of my story you can find on my home page or the meet Donna page….

After being here with mom and having to start focusing my attention on her and being available for her, I had to pretty much give up any consideration of employment, except through a local assisted home care agency who pays me minimum wage to care for mom.

As I was watching my sisters and brother go on with their life and mine seemingly going downhill AGAIN, I knew I had to do something and quick!

Once again I plunged into another NWM company and again making no income working at home, I decided at 63 yrs of age I had to do something different. This was getting ridiculous. How many times am I going to do this. As many times as it takes!

Can you believe I would do it again? I'm sure all my family and friends thought I was plain stupid.

REMEMBER-Grand adventures only come to those who are willing to turn the corner...
I was hearing so much about the stimulus package a few years back that I decided I would figure out how to build my own.

I wanted to work at home, so I started searching for some kind of training, and I went online and found a new viral blogging system, now this I can do so I started pouring myself into it and found something that just knocked me off my feet.

If you know anything about NWM or MLM, you know we are trained to go after family and friends, which was an absolute disaster, let me tell you…

I finally know in my heart after doing all the soul searching, praying, and asking God for wisdom and direction in my life, now more than ever before, I have complete peace about where my life was heading.

Doing the research on David Wood's "viral blogging system" has just opened up a whole new world to me.

Working at home is here. My life is starting to take a turn and getting some momentum and I am now content with where I am at.

Empower Network is allowing me to give my mom her last years in her own home and I can work on my internet profession at the same time while caring for her.

No meetings, no rejections, not spending lots of money but just having lots of fun blogging, sharing with other family caregivers and building my website. My life is finally filled with some joy.

Now, I will say... it was tough going in the beginning, because the only thing I knew was how to email and do a little Google search and that was it, BUT I persisted and would not give up and now I am looking forward to a more prosperous 2012….

Very excited about my future and know that God is directing my path, I am confident that brighter days are ahead.
